Patient Education

Here at Hematology and Oncology Associates, we strive to make you comfortable through the entire treatment process. Educating you and your loved ones on the journey ahead is the first step in the process.

Before starting your treatments you will have a teaching appointment with a Physician Assistant to review the different aspects of your treatment. You will be provided literature on the chemotherapy regimen your physician has recommended. We encourage you to ask questions.

Some forms of chemotherapy cause side effects which are easily treatable. We will provide you with prescriptions if appropriate so that you can have them filled should you need them.

The next step in the process is to consent to the treatment that was reviewed with you. The Physician Assistant will walk you through filling out the forms and answer any additional questions you may have.

You will be given a personal tour of the facility. Our chemotherapy suite is designed with your comfort and privacy in mind.

Once your treatment has been cleared with your insurance company a treatment schedule will be provided to you. This will outline the series of appointments that will begin your treatment plan.

Hematology and Oncology Associates is dedicated to providing exceptional care close to home. If you have any questions contact us at 570-342-3675. Our chemo nurses are available to answer your treatment questions at extension 307.
