REGISTERED NURSE

Hematology and Oncology practice serving outpatients has a full time career opportunity available for an Oncology certified Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse.  Ideal candidate will be familiar chemotherapy treatment, familiar with working in a multi-disciplinary approach to cancer care.  The facility is a single specialty group and the largest hematology and oncology practice in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse is responsible for administering a variety of chemotherapy regimens in a safe and efficient manner.  The Registered Nurse will also be responsible for assisting in the triage assessment area for patients needing port flush/draws.

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or graduate of nursing program

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania

  • Current Oncology certification, preferred

  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

  • Prior experience as an oncology nurse, preferred

  • Prior knowledge of chemotherapeutic drugs; oncology diagnoses and disease processes

  • Minimum of three to five years prior experience as a registered nurse.  Minimum of one to two years within oncology, preferred

Additionally, the candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrate concern for the health and well-being of others, have superior written and oral communication skills, as well as computer literacy including electronic medical record documentation and the ability to work as a team member.
