Billing Clerk - A/R
Summary of Position:
Primary responsibility will be following up, on both insurance AR and patient collections. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated professional with a background in medical billing.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Timely management of unpaid claims through aging reports, open tickets, clearinghouse and rejections from insurance companies.

Collections on outstanding accounts both from medical insurance and patient accounts

Abilities to read and understand HCFA regulations, Medicare, Medicaid updates, with ability to prioritize and work independently.

Responsible for making calls to medical insurance and patients for outstanding accounts.

Contributes to team effort by assisting others in the department to accomplish their tasks when needed.

Preserves quality service by following departmental organizational standards.

Maintains patient privacy by keeping all billing information confidential; HIPAA compliant.
Skills and Abilities

Minimum of two (2) years of medical billing experience, required

Prior experience with medical billing collections, preferred

Excellent data entry and computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office, Electronic Medical Records, etc.)Ability to find relevant billing information and report financial data

Experience resolving billing discrepancies involving charges and payments

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to multi-task within a fast-paced environment

Excellent organizational and time management skills
